Silverstone Club Offers 2011

Last year we took advantage of the Club Area and enjoyed a prime parking spot and subsidised tickets.

This year we have managed to register for the World Superbike Round, in July, as well as the British Superbike Round in September.

As soon as the booking information and instructions are available we'll make them know to everyone.

Riding Season

The weather has been very nice the last week or so and now is the time to get out there and enjoy it before those April showers arrive. This is a view off the North Downs near Inkpen.

K1600 Deliveries

BMW Off Road Skills Course

Steve and I have signed up for the BMW off road skills course to be held on the 22/23 July 2011.
 
It's something that I've always fancied doing but never had the time to do it. Ken Smale went on it a while ago and enjoyed it so much he wrote an article on the experience.
 
We plan to travel down on the Thurs evening and stay that night and Friday night at a nearby pub. There's plenty of spaces left on the course on those dates.

February Indoor Meeting

Around 45 poeple attended the February Indoor Meeting at Uffington to hear an excellent illustrated talk by Nigel Richardson about his Trans America trip. A 24,000 mile ride from Prudhoe Bay in Alaska to Ushuaia in South America in the company of Globe Busters Motorcycle Expeditions.
 
It certainly gave a few poeple somthing to think about. 

2011 Section BBQ 14th Aug

Although last summer is a distant memory we need to be optimistic that there will be warmth and sun again.

 

I thought it might cheer everyone up to know that the Section BBQ is booked and paid for at the same venue, in the Savernake Forrest, as last year.

British Super Bike Round at Silverstone

This year 10 of us took advantage of the Silverstone Club offer which enable us to watch the British Superbike Round for a a much reduced price and use a Club parking area inside the circuit.
 
Although the weather was unkind we had a great day and saw a mixture of wet and dry weather racing.
 
Silverstone Circuits will most likely repeat the offer again, next year, for both the British Superbike round and the World Superbike Round.
As soon as we know the dates we will pass them on.

Moto Piston 2010

Just back from the 2010 Moto Piston rally in Colombres Spain. The weather was only average, in fact better in the UK! But a very good time was had by all, see John Winn and his fantastic R60 above.
