Turweston Wings & Wheels event enjoyed good weather all day and allowed a superb display of aircraft including the very rare Edgley Optica and the Fiesler Storch. On the field a varied collection of vehicles lined up for inspection by a sizeable crowd of visitors. Amongst these vehicles were more "Leyland Land Crabs" (Austin, Morris, Wolseley 1800 and 2200) than I have seen in one place since I worked at the factory! The bike park had less machines than usual, probably due to the threat of thundery rain. The BMW team enjoyed the event. In the big grey hangar, a huge digital Scalextric proved a draw and a concentrated battle ensued. John Hillier was awarded the winner's medal, as you might expect from his intense concentration!
